Animal Care and Conservation

Rescue Efforts

At Jungle Reef, animal care is our top priority. Our mission extends beyond just providing food, shelter, and space—it’s about creating a nurturing environment where animals can thrive, grow, and engage in natural behaviors. Through rescue efforts, rehabilitation programs, and collaborations with other accredited organizations, we are able to give many animals a second chance at life.

Our tortoises originated in Puerto Rico and were rescued by a California-based nonprofit following a boat wreck.

Our stingrays enjoy swimming freely in an impressive 24,000 gallons of water since being rescued from a damaged Florida facility.

Going Above and Beyond

We believe that excellent animal care requires more than just meeting the basic requirements. Our team is dedicated to exceeding the standards, offering more space, mental stimulation, and variety in diets than what is required. Each animal receives personalized attention to ensure both their physical and mental well-being.

Our tanks exceed the minimum required water volume of 1 gallon per square inch of body surface, leading to happier, healthier fish.

We prioritize our animal's mental well-being by regulating light, temperature, and humidity to mimic their natural environment.

Get to Know Our Animal Family

At Jungle Reef, each of our animals are treated like family. Each animal has a name and a regimen tailored to its species and personality, prioritizing health and mental well-being.
